Spring Swing Spotlight!

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT

Our Not-for-Profit Sponsor

The first 100 guests each day at The Spring Swing who bring a monetary donation for our non-profit partner, The Whole Person, will receive a coveted swag bag chock full of awesome handmades and handouts.  Our suggested donation is $10.00.  We’ll also have a raffle of handmade items our makers have generously donated which will be at The Whole Person’s tent, with all proceeds/donations going to them.  Make sure you stop by and find out more about them.

The Whole Person provides services to people with disabilities and their families and strives to help them identify and implement resources appropriate to their situation.  They serve people across a full range of physical, sensory and mental disabilities.  Their programs are offered free of charge to all people with significant disabilities.

Their Mission:  The Whole Person connects people with disabilities to the resources they need by supporting independent choice and advocating for positive change in the community.   They envision a fully accessible community where opportunities and choices are not limited by disability.  Their core values influence how they interact with each other, guide how they go about their work and fulfill their mission.

  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Inclusiveness
  • Committed
  • Collaboration

Not only is she extremely passionate about the handmade movement and dedicated to increasing Kansas City’s knowledge of, passion for, and participation in this “indie craft thing”, she’s a crafter herself!  Our Spring Swing Sponsor Spotlight is on Farmers Insurance and Farmers Agent Nita Mai, who supports the handmade movement and is a small business owner herself here in Kansas City

Nita is into all things handmade & crafty! She sponsored The Strawberry Swing because she believes The Swing is an important group of individuals who can impact our culture.  She’s a maker herself and can’t wait to meet our guests and makers who are equally excited about having and supporting small businesses.  Go visit her at her Spring Swing booth and talk to her about how to protect the items that you have and acquire.  Maybe she’ll bring some of the awesome quilts she has sewn, too!

DID YOU KNOW:

Two feet of water will carry away most cars in a flood. Why? For each foot of water that rises around a car, the car displaces 1,500 lbs. of water. Two feet of water means 3,000 lbs. displaced. Call Nita today so you can make sure your car and policies don’t get carried away at (913) 829-6888.

Become an Entrepreneur

Become an Entrepreneur

The team here at Strawberry Swing is ecstatic to announce that this year we will be launching a program for children, ages 4 – 12, to create, produce and sell their artwork all the while learning core principles of entrepreneurship!

One of the most fun parts of hosting an indie craft fair is meeting and sharing life with so many beautiful, artistic people – many of whom are children. We have found as we have have raised children, loved on nieces and nephews, and taught youngsters, that they have such an imaginative way of seeing the world; a way in which moves us and is bound to move you. So why not have them share this with the world?

If you have a child who would be interested in selling their handmades at The Swing, here are the details:

We’ll have an area set up specifically for the lil entrepreneurs and we are aiming to have 8-10 kids.   A parent/guardian will need to stay with the entrepreneur/remain at the event the duration of time the lil entrepreneur is there and will assume all responsibility for them.

We {LOVE} our Sponsors!
